Results Of The Selected Poll

Question:

The Government is considering an overhaul of local councils so that one body (a unitary covering ideally 300,000+) deals with all Local Government matters. Waverley has a population of 116,000. How do you think local government is best delivered in our Area?

Our Opinion:

With the scale of proposed changes to the NHS and the Police Force, we can expect some radical proposals. Waverley has a population of 116,000 and the Government is encouraging Unitaries of 300,000. A consideration is merging with Guildford and Woking Borough Councils to create an effective Unitary
